Continuing Education for Counselors and Therapists

The 4 day training will give you skills necessary to treat any addictive disorder successfully. Addiction is a primary, chronic disease of brain reward, motivation, memory and related circuitry. Dysfunction in these circuits leads to characteristic biological, psychological, social and spiritual manifestations.  Stanton Peale said years ago in "The Addicting of America" that "Addiction is the most Common form of Treatment for Addiction".  This treatment process eliminates that statement. This training guides participants in how to help clients identify common destructive and recovery behaviors, triggers, thought processes, negative/limiting beliefs about self, pivotal life events, unresolved grief/loss events.  NOTE:  Course pricing is per individual.)

Addiction is a primary, chronic disease of brain reward, motivation, memory and related circuitry. Dysfunction in these circuits leads to characteristic biological, psychological, social and spiritual manifestations. This is reflected in an individual pathologically pursuing reward and/or relief by prescription and illegal substance use and addictive reliance upon sex (with compulsive masturbation, people(anonymous or known, pornography), relationship's, gambling, spending, eating disorders, anorexia/bulimia, love/avoidance, nicotine, co-dependence, water, exercise, internet, video games, work, other behaviors engaged in to avoid/medicate relationship with self or other. The unresolved, incomplete grief responses, internalized pain, anger, sense of shame, loss of voice, innocence, sense of safety, boundaries set the person up for a disconnected relationship with self and others.

I will discuss neurotransmitter imbalance due to addictive behaviors and the use of urine testing and appropriate amino-acids to rebalance the brain chemistry. I have developed a simple form to help identify specific causative incidents that set the person up for their addiction and participants will experience its use. The form also identifies possible blocks to their receiving treatments that day that can be removed and retested prior to therapy. Therapies discussed are Family of Origin/Genograms, Inner Child work/Parts or Voice Dialogue, conflict management, motivational enhancement, Hypnosis, Imagery, CBT, acupressure (TFT/EFT/NPL/TAT/EMDR), therapeutic massage, acupuncture (NADA Acu-detox protocol) and grief work to identify and then resolve, finish, compete, let go of the pain/discomfort/belief systems/identity associated with the addictive disorder/s, then check the results with kinesiology. Finishing the session by using imagery to re-stimulate the events to see if there are any energy attachments associated with past remembrances or future event triggers. If they exist treat them and test again.

Lastly the training discusses making referrals to appropriate support groups like SMART Recovery, Rational Recovery, ongoing counseling, treatment program aftercare groups, Master Mind Groups, Ministers, joining Toastmasters, Church Support, various 12 step programs, Women/Men for Sobriety, The Forum, The Silva Method, The Sedona Method, SOS or other groups. The therapist or treatment team will gather information about the client while in treatment (using kinesiology as well) to help them make the best referral possible for the client.
