Continuing Education for Counselors and Therapists

Goal:  To educate participants about the physical and psychological problems occurring among patients suffering from AIDS, HIV, TB, Hepatitis B & C.
Objective:  The student will be able to identify physical and psychological symptoms of individuals who suffer from HIV, AIDS, TB, including multi-drug resistant TB, syphilis, and hepatitis B & C.  The students will have the opportunity to be more sensitive to patients entering treatment programs who are at risk of having one or more of these diseases.  The focus is on these particular infectious diseased because they occur frequently among treatment populations and have significant medical and socioeconomic consequences for infected persons and others if not recognized and treated.
