Goal: The goal of this course is to identify ethical concerns and treatment strategies for treating pathological gamblers.
Objective: Differentiate treatment needs and ethical concerns between pathological gambling and other addictive disorders. Discuss the major ethical differences revolving around financial responsibility, debt repayment, and counselors sensitivity to these issues. Discuss the special treatment needs of the gambler like leisure time activities & repayment of debt will be of major focus. Explain how techniques like REBT, Grief Recovery & the use of imagery are beneficial treatment strategies.
